Training Safety Policy
The Seattle Chapter of the Appraisal Institute will work with state and local health officials as well as the Seattle Sheraton to ensure the safety of staff and attendees. We will continue to assess, based on current conditions, whether to postpone or cancel our Fall Conference.
At the Fall Conference, the Seattle Chapter of the Appraisal Institute will follow these protocols:
We advise attendees to stay home if they have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or if they have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19. In this situation, the Seattle Chapter of the Appraisal Institute will waive any cancellation fee. The attendee must contact AI staff within 24 hours of the Fall Conference to request the refund.
For the safety of all our members, we require that attendees who attend the Fall Conference must be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the conference. There is a virtual attendance option for those who are not vaccinated.
We require staff and attendees wear well-fitting masks that fit completely over their nose and mouth.
Physical (Social) Distancing
We encourage attendees to stay 6 feet (2 arm lengths) apart during all events.
We discourage attendees from greeting others with physical contact (for example, handshakes).
We will work with the venue to modify the layout to maintain physical distance. We will also use multiple entrances and exits and discourage crowded waiting areas.
We require staff and attendees to wash their hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, staff and attendees can use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol and rub their hands until dry.
There will be limited food & beverages at our Fall Conference. The Continental breakfast and breaks will be grab-and-go options. The lunch will be a buffet served by Hotel staff. We require that attendees maintain physical distance at any food tables.
Any attendee who does not follow any of these protocols will be asked to immediately leave the event.
