National USPAP Update
This one-day update course, copyrighted by The Appraisal Foundation, focuses on recent changes to USPAP requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers. The course, which clarifies several commonly misunderstood aspects of USPAP, will aid appraisers in all areas of appraisal practice seeking updated competency in USPAP, including those subject to state licensing or certification and continuing education requirements imposed by professional organizations, client groups, or employers.
Who Should Enroll
General and Residential Appraisers who have successfully completed Appraisal Institute’s National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) Course, 15-Hour, or an equivalent.

• The appraiser and public trust
• USPAP’s structure and overview of recent changes
• When does USPAP apply?
• Discussion of hot topic and real world issues
• Scope of work
• Revisions in statements, standards and advisory opinions
• USPAP myths, misconceptions, common errors, and deficiencies
What You Will Gain
• Recognize the appraiser’s role in society
• Understand the significance of “public trust” in appraisals
• Identify the function and purpose of the Appraisal Foundation and distinguish the roles of the ASB and AQB
• Understand the legal authority of the Appraisal Foundation
• Identify key revisions to the USPAP requirements since 2008
• Recognize valuation services that are not part of appraisal practice
• Summarize the scope of work definition and identify key components of the scope of work decision
• Identify the external tests for the acceptability of the scope of work
Understand the relationship between USPAP and the appraisal process

Full attendance of this course: 7 hrs CE
Attendance Requirements
100% attendance is required for all Appraisal Institute education programs. This follows Appraiser Qualifications Board minimum criteria requirements. A “classroom hour” is defined as 50 minutes out of each 60 minute segment. A 10-minute break per hour is allowed and a student would still meet the 100% attendance requirement. Students should not be late or leave early; if they are late or leave early, they will not receive credit.

Cancellation Policy
• Up to 15 days prior to program start date, $50 cancellation fee.
• 2-14 days prior to program start date, $75 cancellation fee.
• Less than 2 days prior to program start date, forfeit of payment unless a student replacement is provided.
