Gary P. Taylor, MAI, SRA


Gary P. Taylor, MAI, SRA, is a past president of the Appraisal Institute. He has served in a variety of education- and publication-related positions for the Appraisal Institute. Previously he had chaired the Curriculum, Education and Faculty committees, and been a member of the Publications, Education Coordination and Education committees. Taylor was also a member of the Residential Appraisal Board from 1992-1995 and served as Long Island Chapter president in 1992, having served as its executive vice president in 1991.

For the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Taylor was a member of the National Publications Committee. For the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, Taylor served as the vice president, secretary and treasurer for the executive board in three one-year stints, chaired the Advancement, Education and Bylaws committees and was the national chairman for courses and examinations.

In 1992, he received the William N. Kinnard Jr. Ph.D. award from the Education Trust of the Appraisal Institute for excellence in education and in 1997 received the Real Estate Man of the Year Award from the Long Island Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He is the president of Rogers and Taylor Appraisers, Inc.

He is currently 2008 Chair of the AQB. His extensive background in appraisal education serves as an excellent foundation for his current position with the AQB.
